[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]One of the hardest things about eating healthy is how to deal with the holidays, especially with children. This Easter let your EGL family help you to make this holiday a happy and healthy one. Just like most holidays Easter is celebrated around a ton of sweet treats. The problem those treats are also filled with sugars, additives, processed foods and other terrible fillers. The solutions are promoting healthy choices that both give the sweet satisfaction but also encourage more healthy ideas and activities.
This Easter instead of running out to fill colorful baskets and eggs full of junk food, instead look at these healthier choices, like cone clear pastry bags filled with dried mangoes or apricots and twisted closed with green raffia to look like carrots (see how to make here). Here is our food treat list and non-food treat list with themes for baskets.

Until next time, enjoy the good life,

Non Food Treats with Themed Basket
- Active or sport themed baskets: any gear (like balls, mitt, bats, pucks so forth) water bottles, towels, T-shirts of favorite teams, sports shoes, hat, or tickets to a game. (Featured) with this one I would do a fitness treasure hunt for the basket, at each clue they have to perform some kind of fitness activity (like do 5 sit ups).
- Art themed: brushes, crayons, colored pencils, drawing pencils, paints, erasers, small and medium canvas, art paper pads, models (wooden/plastic), can put all in art box as ‘Basket.’
- Craft basket: take any favorite crafting with supplies (scrap booking, wood work, pottery, jewelry making so on).
- The puzzler: puzzles, cross words, any other form of games
- Bubble blast: anything and everything bubble (what kid doesn’t love bubbles).
- Bath Basket Themed: cute soaps, wash clothes, towels, bubble bath and bath toys.
- Beach/Pool Basket Themed: Towel, bathing suit, floaters, sand toys and water toys.
- Cars Themed: Hot Wheels with orange tracks, or any favorite brand cars or mix
- Legos: Anything Lego (I would have a blast with this one, maybe make Easter eggs, a bunny with carrots or chicks out of some of the Legos).
- Garden themed: gloves, garden tools, butterfly nets, bug catchers.
- EXTRA: another great little gift for any basket gift cards.
