[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]This project is part of my ultimate beach theme foot spa gift. This project unlike many of the others does not use the shells however, it uses flip-flops (beach theme anyone) to make the cutest ‘spa slippers’ I have ever seen. The only way a true Floridian should ever wear them, and who am I kidding who wouldn’t want these tots’ adorable spa slippers (Clueless moment). So with budget in mind for the project I went to some of my favorite digs. I found the flip-flops at the Dollar Store. By the way you can pick any color you want but the Tiffany blue/teal just looks so nice (and more expensive) than the other colors, I think. Also, I picked up the towel (bath towel) at Wal-Mart for a little over $2. The towel if cut right can make 4 to 5 slippers. I found the idea off of my favorite site Pinterest from this terrific little lady that loves a good party http://onecharmingparty.com/2011/09/06/spa-party-favors/. I totally have to hook up with her and talk I love a good party too! I simple took the idea and budgeted it in my favor. I usually come up with ideas completely on my own or change them so much they become more original. But sometimes when the project is this perfect on it’s own, I just modify it on budget. (See good life tips and tricks for my even cheaper recent find).
I hope you have as much fun as me making it, and more importantly wearing this too cute project. Your bestie and Mommy certainly will. Let me know how you like these spa slippers and please tell me your friend and families reactions to this thoughtful and inexpensive (under $2 if making for more then one) gift.
Until next time, enjoy the good life,

Tips and Tricks
We found even cheaper flip-flops on a recent outing at Wal-Mart for $0.98! Wal-Mart is pushing to beat even the Dollar Tree on like items, but be careful it is not always the case, for example the similar size pool noodles at Wal-Mart are around $1.80 compared to the always almighty dollar at the Dollar Tree.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”421″ border_color=”white” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”medium” style=”vc_box_border_circle”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

Steps:
- Cutting four strips of towel that are the length of each side strap and can wrap completely around and back (enough width to glue on back to start then wrap around front then overlap back to the back side).
- Cut two long strips of towel about an inch to inch and ½ wide, for bows (length depends on how big you want bow, remember though someone will be walking in these don’t make bow or tail ends of bow too long and have people tripping over themselves).
- Tie bows in the two long strips of towel, cut ends in a v shape with about 1 ½ inch length or a bit longer or short to taste and comfort.
- Glue one of the four first towel strips to the back of one side strap of your flip-flip, line up edges so one side does not have over hang.
- Wrap towel strip around to front (I like to put glue on top/front of the strap too when placing towel for extra hold, if in a hurry to make for party, skip this continue to wrap around to the back again and glue in place.
- Repeat other side.
- Glue bow strip in center top of flip-flop straps (technically you are done, however I like to take the time to loop stitch the bow to the flip-flop, to make it more sturdy).
